Driven by Mission

This is Our Moment: Unified for Mission

By on 10月 14, 2024

In a critical moment in The Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo laments, “I wish it need not have happened in my time.” To which Gandalf responds, “So do I… But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

The Importance of This Moment

This is our moment; a time for Acts 29 to unify and refocus on our mission. Throughout history, figures like Joshua, Daniel, and the apostles have all faced their unique challenges during their respective times. Now, it is our turn to step forward, recognizing that we are entrusted with this time in hostory.

God, in His infinite wisdom, has prepared us for the challenges we face today. From the early church in Acts to our present circumstances, the call remains the same: to be witnesses of His love and grace to the ends of the earth. For Acts 29, this is why we plant churches.

Lessons from the Early Church

In the Book of Acts, we see the early Christians fully embracing their mission. After Jesus’ ascension, the disciples waited for the Holy Spirit, which transformed their lives and propelled them into action. In Acts 2:42-45, we glimpse their dedication:

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul… And all who believed were together and had all things in common.”

Their commitment to learning, fellowship, and prayer led to explosive growth, with the Lord adding to their numbers daily. This is the model we must adopt today. Their unity and shared mission were critical to their success and impact.

Our Call to Action

Recent years have presented us with various challenges—COVID-19, political unrest, cultural shifts. It’s easy to become distracted and lose focus on our core mission. However, I believe God is calling us back. He’s urging Acts 29 both as an organization and a network of churches to regain our focus on what truly matters: planting churches, making disciples, and sharing the hope of the gospel.

As we move toward 2025, our aim is to see Acts 29 flourish in its mission to plant new churches and help existing ones thrive. This requires us to be more than just individual believers; we must work as a community, united in purpose and commitment.

The Power of Unity

Imagine the potential when we embrace this call to unity and living on mission to plant churches! Lives changed, communities transformed, and hope restored. Over the next eight weeks, we’ll communicate collective goals and share Scriptures to inspire our mission.

Let us commit to staying focused on reaching our neighborhoods, cities, and the world with the gospel. By partnering together, we can plant more churches and be a beacon of hope in our communities. The history of Acts 29 is rich, and with God’s guidance, our future is even brighter.

This Is Our Moment

This is our moment—our time to be all-in. Let’s work collaboratively to advance God’s kingdom as we see more churches and better churches worldwide!

This is our moment. Let’s seize it!
