Happy Reformation Day! It is 500 years since October 31st 1517 when Augustine priest and university lecturer, Martin Luther, nailed his 95 theses to the doors of All Saints’ church, Wittenberg. What he intended as a dialogue to strengthen the church ended up sparking a Reformation that would change the history of the world. This gospel movement encapsulated what became known as the Five Solas:
- Sola Scriptura
- Sola Fide
- Sola Gratia
- Solus Christus
- Soli Deo Gloria
We should view this as no mere anniversary. These 5 Solas are at the core of the churches that we as Acts 29 want to see planted all around the world. It is our prayer that these 5 messages, and the accompanying discussion questions, will be a useful and lasting resource.
