QUESTIONS
- Apart from the Lord, our good works are filthy rags in his eyes (Isaiah 64:6). Why is it difficult for us to accept that we can do nothing of spiritual value on our own?
- The only kinds of people God justifies are the ungodly who do no work to be justified (Romans 4:5). While we may believe this fact, what actions in your life reveal that you are trying to justify yourself before God? How can we help each other live out the promise that Christ’s perfection has been credited to us through faith (Romans 4:24-25)?
- God does not justify good people for the simple reason that there are none (Romans 3:23). Who are the non-Christians in your life who seem to be upright people, and how might you talk with them about saving faith?
