The Acts 29 US Southeast Church Planter Cohort (CPC) is designed for men who are already recommended for Church Planting (or recommended with conditions) and who are already on the ground in the context of their call. Some of the members of the CPC will be gathering a core group while others will have already launched public worship. The CPC is not designed for men who are investigating the call to Church Planting. The Acts29 US Southeast Church Planter Development School is better suited for such men.
OVERVIEW
The CPC will be a strategic partnership between Acts 29 US Southeast and the Host Church. In 2017, Summit Crossing Community Church (Huntsville, AL) and Church of Eleven 22 (Jacksonville, FL) will serve as Host Churches.
It is our prayer and hope that the members of the CPC will grow in gospel character, self-awareness and church planting skills as they learn alongside the other cohort members and as they spend extensive time with seasoned trainers who have planted churches that plant churches.
Cohort members will gather at the Host Church for four to six Intensives (depending on the Host Church) across twelve months. Each intensive will be 3 days / 2 nights and will include training, fellowship, prayer, projects, and assessments. Cohort Members will receive coaching (via phone and/or video) as needed during the year of the cohort and will receive monthly coaching for the first six months after the cohort.
Note that CPC costs $1,500 for participants who have been assessed by Acts 29. All food and housing expenses while at the Host Church are covered in the fee. Participants are responsible for travel.
INTENSIVES
As stated, the CPC will gather for four to six intensives. Each intensive will focus on a primary theme that participants will read prior to the intensive, discuss during the intensive, and reflect upon and write about after the intensive. The primary themes will include (but not be limited to) Healthy Pastors, Biblical Churches, Aligned Ministries, and Balanced Missions.
